Matrix in the Orient is released!
Gavin and Lydia wowed Aussie and Chinese audiences in Australia last month with their Lunar New Year show. "We’re excited to share this show that was produced for our corporate Spring Festival events. This project was particularly special for us as we had repeat clients who had us at their CNY events 3 years ago. We customised our most popular 'Matrix' show for the occasion, weaving in a touch of the Chinese Spring Festival. You might know that red and gold is a symbol of good luck and prosperity, so we produced some new costumes for our audiences to wish them good fortune!" says the duo. One of the biggest highlights of the show was when Gavin transformed into a traditional Chinese 'Changsang', and grooved his kung fu moves. Adding to their magical transformations, it also took months to produce the music tracks. As music production is Lydia's domain, she took the challenge to create the tracks that would engage their mixed audiences "I wanted to produce funky Chinese new year tracks...keeping traditional tunes but with a modern feel...I wanted to see our Aussie audiences tapping their feet to 'gong xi gong xi' and see our Chinese audiences hear the traditional celebration lyrics. It was a long process, but well worth it when we got the crowd going!" This show was featured at The Star Sydney, Crown Melbourne, and W Brisbane.
